Solid- and vapor-phase antibacterial activities and mechanisms of essential oils against fish spoilage bacteria

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: This study investigates the antibacterial efficacy of seven citrus EOs six bacteria: Vibrio parahaemolyticus V. harveyi Photobacterium damselae Shewanella putrefaciens Carnobacterium divergens and Lactobacillus pentosus. By focusing on these bacteria, the authors aim to understand how EO application form impacts antibacterial properties. In this study, lemon and orange EOs were analyzed via GC-MS. While this study provides significant insights into the antibacterial properties and mechanisms of citrus EOs, it is important to acknowledge that practical applications may present additional complexities.
  • Who: Hsuan-Ju Lin and collaborators from the Department of Food Science, National . . .
