- What: In this work, three different homogeneous fuel-air mixtures were investigated: a H2-air mixture with equivalence ratio of Ф=0.56, a CH4-air mixture with Ф=1.0, and_(3) a H 2-air mixture with Ф=0.45. Although SA/V values are not matched to that of a piston engine, this work provides fundamental measurements to demonstrate the effect of SA/V on the wall heat loss. In the experiments, if the chamber pressure was maintained, it is reasonable to anticipate that the thermodiffusive instabilities would persist and that Q wall,max values could occupy . . .
