HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Jordi Raad from the Centre Translational Biodiversity Genomics (LOEWE-TBG), Senckenberganlage, Frankfurt, GermanyGoethe University have published the research work: Speciation and population divergence in a mutualistic seed dispersing bird, in the Journal: (JOURNAL) of 14/04/2022
- what: The authors show that beak morphology only marginally contributed to the overall phenotypic variation between (sub)species and that the phylogeographic pattern of Eurasian nutcrackers resembles those of other Sino-Himalayan and Palearctic non-mutualistic passerine birds. A similar approach was implemented to examine the variation in beak traits between groups.
