HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Gang Wang from the Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, USA have published the research work: Spin-orbit engineering in transition metal dichalcogenide alloy monolayers, in the Journal: NATURE COMMUNICATIONS NATURE COMMUNICATIONS of 14/Dec/2015
- what: The authors demonstrate spin-orbit-engineering in Mo(1 x)WxSe2 alloy monolayers for optoelectronics and applications based on spin- and valley-control. The experiments demonstrate that the light emission efficiency can be tuned by alloying. Surprisingly, the experiments show a clear SO bowing, which has not been anticipated yet by theory as SO effects where not included . . .
