  • What: This study presents a generalization of the results for discontinuously stratified oceanic flows, where two fluid layers of different constant densities are separated by an interface, which describes a pycnocline. In Sect 4, the authors introduce forcing terms, which are applied to characterize steady stratified flows with constant nonzero R. Quirchmayr JMFM vorticity in purely zonal direction. The authors show that the related viscous problem has only the trivial solution if one imposes Assumption 3.1.
