- what: The authors report here the NMR-derived structure of Ca2⫹-bound recoverin in solution bound to a functional fragment of rhodopsin kinase (residues 1-25, hereafter referred to as RK25). The authors propose that recoverin binding to this N-terminal helix might block rhodopsin binding to the kinase active_site, because deletion of the N-terminal RK residues abolishes interaction with light-excited rhodopsin .
