SUMMARY
The Gibbs free_energy barrier of dopamine anti-dimerization was found to be 115 kJ mol-1 with dimeric product stabilization of 107 kJ mol-1 relative to the transition_state (Fig 3D, methods), while syn-dimerization produced a barrier of 37 kJ mol-1 (Fig 3E). The acetate anion donates as much as 46% of its electron_density to the neighboring cation, while any electron_density not accepted . . .
