SUMMARY

    Literature review The authors of this study planned to compare the knowledge of medical professionals in the area of nutrition with that of nutritionists. Still, the single study that made this comparison (Abdollahi et_al, 2013) showed that nutritionists made fewer mistakes in a test concerning nutrition (15% of false answers compared to 25% in the case of doctors), which suggests that their role in patient-oriented settings should be re-evaluated and adequately improved. Although it might seem that medical practitioners` gaps in knowledge concerning diet and nutrition can be attributed simply to inadequacies . . .
