• What: This study showed that the median serum taurine concentration was significantly lower in dogs with impaired systolic function. The aims of this study are: 1) To identify the relationship between serum taurine concentration, T4 and TSH assessment and echocardiographic indices of systolic function in clinically healthy GRs, 2) To establish a cut-off of serum taurine concentration that can discriminate between healthy GRs and GRs with systolic dysfunction, 3) To perform an inbreeding and kinship check through the pedigree evaluation.
