SUMMARY
In terms of vaccinating the population with a smallpox vaccine, it was proven that vaccinated individuals were much better protected against monkeypox by developing less severe forms of the disease compared with those who did not receive a vaccine. In the context of the ongoing and unpredictable dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic and the negative rhetoric regarding the effects of vaccination against COVID-19, the willingness of the population to accept vaccination against the monkeypox virus can be decisively influenced.
