- What: The aim of this study is to explore the consciousness (SC) of university students in South Africa. Following reviews of the works of Carrim and Oke and Fernandes , it can be stated that during the eras of the first, second and third industrial revolutions, education was used to conscientise people and help them adjust to the practices and demands of the eras. The study of Ovais only focused on the responses of undergraduates, leaving out postgraduates.
