  • What: Viewing the grid cells as tree nodes and leaves, the authors implement a Fast-MultipoleMethod (FMM; see Greengard and amp; Rokhlin 1987; Cheng et_al 1999; Dehnen 2002, 2014; Springel et_al 2021) algorithm to compute the gravitational interactions between particles. Borrowing, once more, from molecular dynamics, the authors implement sorted interactions and pseudo-Verlet lists (Gonnet 2013). The authors show here the full hybrid distributed and shared memory capability of SWIFT. The authors implement the kernels from that same paper, notably the Wendland C2, C4, and C6 kernels, as well as the Cubic, Quartic, and Quintic splines . . .
