- future: To open new prospects in this field the discovery of functionalizable versions of well-defined molecular laddersiloxanes appears as a favorable direction. For more extensive investigation of hybrid materials with unexpected properties the design and synthesis of other topologically structured silsesquioxanes like ladder-type silsesquioxanes (laddersiloxanes) are strongly required.
