SUMMARY
As the most important multi-step oxidation process to provide energy from glucose, glycolysis is controlled by a series of bifunctional enzymes and enables the conversion of glucose to pyruvic acid with the release of two molecules of ATP (Vander Heiden et_al, 2009; Koppenol et_al, 2011; Hay, 2016). With a similar structure of glucose, 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) is able to visualize the abnormal glucose metabolism and hence has been widely used for the diagnosis of tumors (Jadvar et_al, 2009; Zhu et_al, 2022).
