    This may explain that Frobenius` d/dr method, although its idea once was recommended ([4] (Section 3.5); (Chapter V, VI)), is usually no longer covered in modern textbooks (see e_g_[5]). So as to provide a non-trivial example, the authors demonstrate the method on Bessel`s equation, obtaining tandem recurrence relations for coefficients of solutions of the second kind, for Bessel equations of integer or half-integer order. The concepts and theory of regular singular points can, of course, be applied to other points x=x0, by a simple change of variables . . .
