The authors focus on the urban scale as important for a "politics of place" in enacting migrant solidarity (Bauder, 2020) and for access to support (Darling, 2021; Zill, 2023). Arrival infrastructures are also material; for example, the barbershop itself, as the authors show, is set up in "containers," or else made of tin and boards or tents, and can be taken down and moved around (Sibeko, 2020).
