SUMMARY
Diseases of the gallbladder are among the most frequent abdominal problems encountered in emergency departments, and over 20 million patients present annually with biliary symptoms in the United_States. Thirty-two of 84 inpatients (38%) had a clinical diagnosis and POCUS diagnosis of acute cholecystitis, of which twenty-four were categorized as acute gallstone cholecystitis, five as acute acalculous cholecystitis and three patients as complicated acute cholecystitis.
