  • What: Building on the work of other political theorists I begin by considering defenses that focus on the desired consequences of the apocalyptic movement its vision of society should it be successful and the conduct of the apocalyptic movement the manner in which the apocalypse is deployed (e_g does the movement claim absolute certainty about the end of the world?). In the subsequent sections of the article I consider how both cause and conduct can be used to defend the apocalypse.
