The cyclophilin-dependent calcineurin inhibitor voclosporin inhibits sars-cov-2 replication in cell culture

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: CsA and colleagues from the (UNIVERSITY) have published the research work: The Cyclophilin-Dependent Calcineurin Inhibitor Voclosporin Inhibits SARS-CoV-2 Replication in Cell Culture, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • what: The authors compared the effect of three calcineurin inhibitors (TAC, CsA, VCS) and other immunosuppressants commonly used in transplant medicine on SARS-CoV-2 replication using cell-based assays. The authors also evaluated the antiviral activity of a novel CNI, VCS . The authors demonstrate that cyclophilin-dependent CNIs, VCS or CsA, inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication in cell culture more potently than TAC.
