Human papillomavirus (HPV) most commonly causes cervical squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and its precursor lesions (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia; CIN) worldwide (zur Hausen, 2002; Muñoz et_al, 2003; Bruni L et_al, 2010; Forman et_al, 2012; Crosbie et_al, 2013).
