• what: The authors aimed to generalize these findings to a second Drosophila stock, and to determine if the hyperactivity was reversible with microbiota reintroduction. The authors report the first examination of microbiota dependant behaviours in Drosophila across generations. Similarly, while there is work showing that the microbiota affects rodent activity levels16, this study shows that this phenotype is not generalizable to flies.
