The effect of elevated alanine transaminase on non-invasive prenatal screening failures

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

Approval is to study the effect of maternal characteristics on NIPT test failures, as described in the previous study. The FF for the pregnancies was assessed by calculating the proportion of chromosome Y reads for male fetuses, and by using FF- QuantSC, which uses an artificial neural_network model (FF-QuantSC: accurate quantification of fetal fraction by a neural_network model), for female fetuses. IVF pregnancies with an ALT level of >40U/L had a higher test failure rate (9.52%), indicating that pre-test counseling should be provided for women with such pregnancies.
