SUMMARY
Cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL) rupture has been demonstrated to be one of the most common causes of lameness in dogs. Perfect superimposition of the femoral condyles does not assure true lateral positioning of the tibia in clinical patients, and it has been suggested that tibial positioning should therefore be evaluated with reference to superimposition of the tibial condyles, regardless of femoral positioning. The hypothesis was that distal femoral positioning would affect TPA measurement and that a meaningful measurement of this malpositioning (which could significantly affect the measurement of the real TPA) could be established . . .
