The effect of translators’ gender on translation from a contrastive linguistic perspective—taking two chinese translations of the bell jar as examples

  • What: Result Based on the research methods, WordSmith Tools 8.0.0.194 and AntConc 4.2.0.0 are used to retrieve the statistics of the original English text, the two translated texts, and the Chinese comparative corpus. At the same time, the original author, Plath`s emotional narration also makes the translator`s translation inevitably take on their personal feelings, so female translators use rich and varied words with delicate emotions, and male translators choose to translate from a more macroscopic point of view, which is the main reason for the difference in translators` styles . . .
