  • what: In this work for the first time, a formal neuron model was presented, which is now called the McCulloch-Pitts neuron model, Fig1. In 1954, the so-called Georgetown experiment was carried out to demonstrate the capabilities of machine translation, (New York, IBM headquarters). The model was first created on paper, and then implemented in hardware.
