The identification of rpl4 as a hub gene associated with goat litter size via weighted gene co-expression network analysis

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: In this study a single-cell RNA sequencing dataset of oocytes (GSE136005) was obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. This is reason to speculate that the RPL4 gene, selected through various bioinformatics 10 of 12 analysis methods in this study, has great potential as a marker gene for determining the high or low reproductive performance of goats. Despite this, this study approached the analysis from three aspects: DEG analysis, WGCNA, and PPI network analysis, with the aim of increasing the reliability of the results obtained.
