- what: Plant breeding of ryegrass would be much simpler without endophytes.
- how: Seedlings of the new line (putative cultivar) are tested for endophyte using immunoblots and a subset for molecular profiling any negatives are removed and seed is harvested from 100% infected plants.
- future: More studies are required to fully understand what dictates the temporal . . .
