SUMMARY
Cigarette smoking remains the leading cause of preventable disease, disability, and death in the United_States. The Centers and England have reported that, in addition to helping people quit smoking, exposure to mass media campaigns has been associated with a lower likelihood of relapse among people who had recently quit smoking. No study has assessed the impact of a national campaign on reducing relapse in the United_States.
