The multifund system – is it an option for raising the sustainability of the bulgarian pension system?

• What: The aim of this study is to discuss some of the critical elements of multifund system as one of the tools for life cycle investing in insurance. The methodology used throughout the paper embraces mostly comparative and descriptive analysis but also deductive and systematic approaches were applied. The first part of the research is dedicated to the most important elements of the multifund system by considering the experience of several countries in Central and Eastern Europe that have introduced such pension structure.
