HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between citizen participation perceived value and value for money in the procurement of works within local government institutions. Methods: Drawing on the theory of citizen participation the study proposes a research model through which citizen participation influences value for money. This is the gap the authors aim to investigate. Again, the results support the study of Phelps et_al , and Hayes and Murtinho as the more citizens participate in community projects, the better to achieve efficiency, equity, and fitness for purpose (VfM).
