    This essay has in mind Marshall McLuhan`s idea, "The Medium is the Message": the epigraph and epilogues are poems because the very purpose of the work is to establish the idea that the authors always mean more than the authors say; an idea that is true even in-perhaps especially in-doing physics. The authors then, separately, summarise the surprising development of the ideas of entropy and information (§4) as a specific example of how meaning is negotiated (Martin Edwardes` idea ) in physics.
