SUMMARY
Among the environmental stresses, drought is the major limiting factor of crop production worldwide (Farooq et_al, 2009; da Silva et_al, 2013), and its effects are further exacerbated by climate change and global warming. Water deficit disrupts cell structure and function, including membrane integrity, photosynthesis, respiration, and growth processes (Anjum et_al, 2011; Kumar et_al, 2018; Kapoor et_al, 2020).
