  • What: The present review discusses the mechanisms behind the KP alterations in COVID-19 acute infection and scrutinizes the potential impact of the KP on the incidence of other health implications associated with long COVID. It is important to highlight that their findings indicated that Trp metabolism was the pathway most dysregulated during acute COVID-19 infection . this study showed increased levels of KYN, KYNA, and PIC as well as decreased levels of Trp, indole pyruvate and serotonin in acute COVID-19 cases .
