• What: This study explored the complexity of these probiotic-pathogen interactions through evaluation of host, probiotic, and pathogen gene_expression, and through small metabolite profiles, ultimately revealing the host-protective effects of B. infantis are both species and context dependent. This study examined the ability of B. infantis to attenuate S. Typhimurium infection in an in_vitro model and further characterized underlying microbe-microbe and host-microbe interactions.
