    This meta-analysis and meta-regression investigated the association between volume and intensity of aerobic exercise on glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes. The focus is specifically on aerobic exercise as aerobic and resistance exercise both utilise different mechanisms to improve glycaemic control, and there are also variations in the definitions of amount of exercise between the two. The benefits of aerobic exercise for type 2 diabetes are well documented, however, the volume and intensity of aerobic exercise required to improve glycaemic control are less well quantified.
