- who: Francisco J. Roca from the Department University of Cambridge , OQH, UK have published the research work: TNF Induces Pathogenic Programmed Macrophage Necrosis in Tuberculosis through a Mitochondrial-Lysosomal-Endoplasmic Reticulum Circuit, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: The authors show that this necrosis pathway is not mitochondrion-intrinsic but results from an inter-organellar circuit initiating and culminating the mitochondrion. While mitochondrial ROS may also directly regulate cyclophilin D in this pathway, the work shows it is unlikely their predominant role- interventions that remove mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake, while maintaining TNF-induced mitochondrial ROS, inhibit necrosis . . .
