SUMMARY
Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a destructive disease of cereal grain crops, with worldwide economic impact. The disease is caused by a series of trichothecene-producing Fusarium species, of which F. graminearum (teleomorph: Gibberella zeae) and F. culmorum are the most economically relevant. Trichothecenes are sesquiterpenoid mycotoxins that have been implicated in disease aggressiveness and are found to accumulate in kernels of infected spikelets, rendering the grain . . .
