TLS occurs due to rapid destruction of tumor cells after cancer chemotherapy initiation, but also spontaneously in one-third of the cases. Early identification of high-risk TLS (HR-TLS) patients is of utmost importance to prevent the occurrence of clinical TLS. Despite its large use, Darmon et_al found an occurrence of TLS in two-thirds of HR-TLS patients with AKI in half of them.
