- what: This study shows the usefulness of the watershed segmentation and the GHSOM in satellite-based rainfall estimations. After segmentation, an empirical statistic analysis is conducted to investigate different sets of feature combinations in terms of precipitation relevance, classification impact, and computation efficiency. Next the authors examine the accumulated daily peak rainfall to test the capability and accuracy of the system during extreme situations.
