HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The authors compare the efficacy of transcranial aberration correction using UTE scans to CT based correction four skulls and two targets using clinical device (Exablate Neuro Insightec Israel). This work shows that a custom UTE-based ray tracing approach challenges the current state of the art CT-based proprietary algorithm used in clinical MRgFUS procedures. This study investigated the suitability of UTE for skull aberration correction. The authors demonstrate that UTE is able to generate acoustic maps and enable aberration correction for MRgFUS procedures in a dataset containing 4 human calvaria with two targets each.
