Various sources of evidence suggest that PD patients have an abnormal vitamin D endocrine system, comprising a decline in the vitamin D level and less bone density, along with elevated boneturnover indicators-urinary N-terminal telo-peptide and alkaline phosphatase of the bone (Abou-Raya et_al, 2009).
