Using covid-19 pandemic as a prism: a systematic review of methodological approaches and the quality of empirical studies on physical activity behavior change

SUMMARY

    Evidence mapping was used to highlight some of the most important findings (Miake-Lye et_al, 2016). The speed with which researchers began to collect data from the first day of the strictest confinement measures in their countries (confinement index > 20 according to the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response tracker; Hale et_al, 2021) was 44 days (median value). Less than 5% of these studies collected data on change in exercise type (e_g, García-Tascón et_al, 2020; Schnitzer et_al, 2020) or focused on whether cardiovascular endurance exercise was affected differently than muscle strengthening exercises . . .
