- what: The survey respondents shared aspects of their mentoring experiences that can be used to build a set of best practices for mentoring relationships. The remaining two characteristics on the survey were that achievable goals should be set for the mentoring experience (25%) and that the mentor and mentee should be close enough to meet in person (22%).
