Response to allocation in unblinded trials can additionally induce research participation effects or biases post-randomisation, most notably within control participants who may be dissatisfied with allocation. Autologous stem_cell transplantation (ASCT) enables use of high-dose chemotherapy to consolidate therapy and is most frequently used as first line therapy in people living with myeloma deemed ‘fit` enough for intensive anti-cancer therapy.
