SUMMARY
As experienced community researchers, the authors have used participatory methods motivated by goals of social justice and health equity to amplify the voices of those who are traditionally under-represented in research and in health service delivery. Te need to better engage participants who are socially isolated or living with precarity, and are therefore "hard-toreach," across research processes (from conceptualisation through to dissemination/implementation) has given rise to a variety of participatory research methodologies.
