- What: This study investigates the musical perception skills of through playback experiments. were trained to distinguish between two different target locations based on a sequence of four ascending or descending notes. Musicality requires an understanding of the relationships and interplay between sounds, which cannot be inferred from the experiments described, as only a single note was used. The authors aimed to investigate dogs` capacity to process relative pitch. This study reveals that while most dogs exhibited performance above chance levels when their owners were visible, their accuracy significantly decreased when their owners were out of sight.
