- What: Based on the number of genotypic and phenotypic differences the authors propose to classify this isolate as representing a novel species of the genus M. strain Ch1-1T (=VKM B-3852T = UQM 41855T) is the type strain of the newly proposed species. Although strain Ch1-1T was potentially identified as representing a novel species of the genus Methylomarinum, the major work focus was made on assessing its growth on natural gas in a bioreactor in a medium with a total salt content of 29 g L-1.
