  • What: The authors explore the effect of air masses (AMs) - a relatively novel and holistic measure of environmental conditions - on human mortality across 61 cities in the United States. Building upon the work of Lee , the goal of this research is to apply these GWTC2 AMs to investigate how lagged mortality rates vary after a population`s exposure to these updated AMs, while noting the spatial and seasonal variability to these relationships. detrended raw mortality, and then divide the difference by the detrended day-of-year standard deviation of mortality.
