HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The authors aimed to establish a mouse model of influenza virus-induced pneumonia through intranasal infection with type A Hemagglutinin 1 Neuraminidase 1 (H1N1) influenza virus. By observing the therapeutic effects of MXSG on lung damage in the animal model and its impact on gut microbiota structure and lung glycolysis, the authors aimed to elucidate the mechanism underlying the treatment effect of MXSG against influenza virus-induced pneumonia. This study demonstrated that influenza virus infection led to an increase in the abundance of Rikenella, Proteobacteria, and Parabacteroides and reduced the abundance of Lactobacillus.
