    Hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) is characterized by a persistent or recurrent deficiency of sexual fantasies and desire for sexual activity, resulting in marked distress and interpersonal difficulties. Acquired HSDD develops in an individual who previously had no problems with sexual desire, while generalized HSDD occurs regardless of the type of stimulation, situation, or partner.
